I only know a bit about it, having worked on some of, and seen others, of the descriptive entries. So I can't speak to what is in there beyond the gazeteer descriptions, the rest will be a surprise to me to!

Descriptions vary quite a bit by location. Some are as simple as "highest of the Yinkin Hills." Most are longer. Besides a physical description, a lot of focus was on the historical and mythical connections. So there tends not to be a lot of detailed physical description. Some really focus just on the historical or mythic connection "X came here in the re-settlement, and did Y, which is why, to this day, Z happens." Some do a bit of all "These hills are this color and of this shape. They are the result of this god doing that thing during the god time. They now known for this resource and that holy place."

Very definately you don't get detailed lists of the flora and fauna for each location, which clan claims posession of it, how many farmers it can support per hide, etc.

However all the major geographical points that you can get from any of the maps, and some that you can't, are described--all the hills, valleys, and rivers of any note are named and written up. So are a lot of villages, cities, and sites of note for whatever reason (the stone that Arim stood on to lecture the people, etc).

Just for the map and this I think it would be worth it. Really, it lets you travel all around Dragon Pass and always have at least some reference for where you are, and also have interesting places nearby. Anything else that they add in will just be a further bonus.
