But it makes a very nice Humatki herocult - the story of a Humatki who sacrifices his hand to protect a clan he is sworn to defend. Probably provides a heroquest for Humatki which enables them to transfer fighting abilities to their off hand and use a shield strapped to the stump.

A case of continuing to be an effective Humatki in spite of disability rather than healing the injury.

There will be disabled people among Heortlings but I don't see them being shut away - they will be part of the community contributing as they can and looked after by their family as a family obligation rather than a clan or tribal one.
