Can't believe noone's mentioned Orff yet - 'Carmina Burana' has to be something that everyone has used for mood setting at some point or other, surely?

Wagner is also good. Boorman used great bleeding chunks of him for the 'Excalibur' soundtrack (when he wasn't using Orff).

Afro-Celt Sound System would be good for Gloranthan roleplaying I think - the melange of musical styles would make for an interesting take on the not-exactly-Celtic style of Heortling society.
