Will,

After consulting the powers that be, here is the summary of what we know of the Smoking Ruins from Dragon Pass http://www.glorantha.com/products/1502.html

"Permanently smoking ruins in the Grazelands The trolls tell that this was where the beast-men burnt their ancestors following the Battle of Uz Eat Dragonewts. While the fire still burns they may not contact the ancestors immolated here, but no hero has ever extinguished the flames. The Heortlings know that the troll pyre smokes in the ruins of Korolstead, former hill fort of the Koroltes Tribe. It is still a good jumping-off point for heroquests for those prepared to risk the Grazers and troll ghosts. Mastakos' left boot print is here too, the one he made after Orlanth recovered his sinews from the Bad Dogs."

Korol Kandoros founder of the Koroltes and Korolstead are described in the text, but here I'll just add a note that he was one of the sons of Vingkot. Also note that this area was once called Doriziland but is now part of the Grazelands.
