I know this isn't exactly what you're after, but it may be interesting or relevant. The author, Steve Maurer, was one of the heroquesting gurus of the eighties/nineties. His RuneQuestish HeroQuesting rules are linked from Lokarnos, if you want to know how the mechanics would have worked.
