I missed this one. I was thinking more like being head of a family
includes the normal provisioning of that family, and knowing what
things are worth. The farmers son might trade the cow for a handful
of 'magical' beans, but Dad would 'know better.' Basically I king of
view allfather and allmother as magical common sense, that helps keep
you from being magically lured into doing things that you should no
better than to do.
Just my interpretation--I view Orlanth Allfather's core affinities of
Allfather and Making as both incredibly, deeply, powerful, but in a
very subtle way that is not always so useful to impatient adventurers.
