Also in many cases the trader will need to use any advantage they can get. Sure Joe Bumpkin may only have bargain 13 against the trader's 10w but Joe has his mates around interupting and distracting the trader while encouraging Joe not to pay that much for the item. There may also be other customers demanding attention so the trader only has a limited time to devote to any one sale.

The same applies to a negotiator approaching a clan chief, they will have to counteract the substantial community bonus to win their argument. It seems to me that communities support such specialists *because* they have the skills and magic to take on another community on their own ground.
