Doesn't broo 'fertility' magic work equally well on male and female creatures? In other words, they're equal-opportunity rapists?
As for the allying with them part, picture this. Your tribe has trecked across the Long Dry all summer, leaving behind a trail of bleached bones from its weaker herdbeasts. You finally reach an oasis, only to find that a gang of broo has taken up residence there. You know you can drive them out eventually, but your own losses will be severe - and you don't have time to spare.
Alternatively, you can assemble your braves, look as dangerous and threatening as possible, and tell the broo you're willing to let them live - and even pay them a share of the loot - if they help you attack an enemy tribe.
Like Jeff said, it's not much different in terms of morality to catapulting plague-infested corpses over the walls of an enemy city, then pillaging it once it falls.
