(a) Because, presumably, chaos doesn't particularly care *who*
they're destroying as long as there's not direct like vs like conflict (and even then, it's *good* for the little darlings to work out their frustrations on one another: that's how they get stronger). It's a point for the digest, but I'm not certain that Broo wouldn't rape anything they can get there hands on, even other Broo, given their druthers, and their Gods certainly made them that way.
(b) Because chaos just LOVES it when law-abiding folk start
talking about "special concessions" and "extenuating circumstances" because it's the thin edge of the wedge.
Law's only alternative that doesn't benefit chaos when in direct conflict is, presumably, Storm Bull's attitude -- the only good chaos beastie is a dead chaos beastie, or to simply walk away and avoid. And these kinds of single-minded devotion to "principles" will get you in trouble eventually (Edwards makes a persuasive argument that this kind of callous inflexibility is part of what created Thed in the first place).
Don't sell Chaos short; it's not a subordinate foe that Law can conquer -- it provides Law with an eternal struggle. (Otherwise, it's just a bunch of middle-class wankers in the backyard pretending "to be bad" and messing with powers they really don't fully comprehend... 8))
Anyway, I've amplified my point, and I think followups on this issue should now get sent off to the digest, neh?
