Re: No common magic feats for Heortlings [was: Heortling Collectives for Common

I think there's a slight tension here, according to one's initial premise about what common magic is as such. Is it a different system, entire, or is it a grab-bag of 'locally acceptable but ultimately unrelated' magics. HQ seems to hint at both, depending how (and where) you read it. If you incline to the former, presumably it'd make most sense for all CM to be talents (whatever talents actually _are_ these days, but let's say talents, for argument's sakes). The latter view would incline to a mixture of feats, charms, and spells (and leaves talents essentially redundant).

A good example might be Heortling ancestor-worship. Assuming it is indeed one of the things CM is supposed to model, is it fundamentally theistic in nature? (Or animist? Or 'mixed'?)

Cheers,
Alex.
