I seem to recall that the old Genertela pack maps had the national borders, so it's not like there are no guidelines for drawing them.

I hope so. There are some significant problems with the model Nick gives above. Like it's always a halfmoon in Glamour (under the rotating shadow). Those interested can read more about the subject on the GD.
