Greymane's "raids" are major events. I don't know if the cities get sacked, but I think large parts of the countryside are badly damaged and severely looted, and the cities probably end up paying major bribes to get him to go away. There is major economic disruption afterwards, with some factions being crippled if much of their territory was affected. Greymane basically is revered leader of his people ever after due to the amount of loot obtained. I think this is part of why Esrolia doesn't participate in events as much as you might think---it is still a rich and populous land, but it is injured and takes years to heal.

The trolls of course see the death of the pharoah as an incredibly good sign. Assume that various groups are working feverishly to restore the Only Old One, create a new demi-god, emobody some other demi-god, or set up some other trollish government, all agreeing that the ultimate goal is the restoration of the good old days (i.e. the shadowlands).

I think Esvrular goes from a fairly sleepy existence to being right in the middle of hte hero wars. Whitewall is pretty much on their doorstep, the wind stop affects them (no idea how if affects their magic, but I'm presuming it would also be crippled), there are lunars parked near them, and so on. I suspect that they are totally changed by the experience......but I think official and semi-offical publications will come out eventually telling the real story.
