In Darsen, the ruling goddess is not Ernalda, but Koveria the Crone. Hence the grandmothers rule, instead of the mothers. Their control over males comes from their taming of the Serpent Ursturburn (Entekosiad p10-11). Polyandry is not practiced in Darsen.
