Isn't this what the tribal warband's wyter is for? the magic that allows all the clan warbands to fight on the same side.
Even so there are going to be problems splitting clan warbands along subcult lines unless there's an acknowledged leader of the subcult within the tribe.
So I rather suspect they will tend to operate as individuals rather than as a unit.
