No. You can swim in aluminium armour. You can sneak around in lead armour so long as you are strong enough to wear it. Copper armour is extremely light. Gold armour is heavy but shiny. Silver and Tin have no documented effects. Think magic.

A suggestion I made many years ago was Arsenic, the metal of the Taking Earth (just as copper was the metal of the Giving Earth). Now it just so happens that in the early bronze age, many bronzes were arsenical - in other words they were made from Arsenic and Copper. In glorantha, enchanted arsenical bronzes would be the archetypal poisoned weapons.
