I've been converting a number of characters as Common Magic-only types: Errap Barbacon, Markhor Mhelm, Eagle-Eye Gjorni, Cracktwig, Moraring Broom, etc. Most one-use Rune Magic turns into charms (Elemental-summonings in particular). It works out extraordinarily well, almost as if the characters had been originally conceived in HQ...

I'd been looking into Spirit Allies and the like (since Marusa is his close associate). However, it works better as a straight Sidekick, indeed.

See above RE:charms. I figure, Marusa's a Jakaleel witch, she's got plenty of backing to make charms and fetishes, and as a member of 7M, he's got no problem using them. Then again, I'm using the HQ writeup, since I haven't got ILH yet...
