It's also worth noting that there are some circumstances in which following the Lunar Way may be anoutright disadvantage: remember that the DH culture in particular largely tolerates it, because Yelm has anointed Moonson, rather than especially approving of it. I can't see, for example, a soldier worshipping a Lunar god, even if he also followed a DH one, getting very far in some ultratraditional  cities or regiments, like the Stonewall phalanxes. The same would probably be true, even if less cut-and-dried because of their more pliable and subtle forms of cultural resistance, amongst the Darjiini.

After all, committing yourself to the Lunar Way, even at initiate and certainly devotee level, is also about turning your back on your home culture. Even if you don't see it in those terms, many of those you left behind will.

All the best

Mark
