Well they've been fighting the Pentan nomads for centuries although the land was controlled by Dara Happens, Pentans and Carmenians at various times. Several of the Seven Mothers were Rinliddi and I think the Lunar acceptance of women as equals comes from Rinliddi culture - it's certainly not from Dara Happa or Carmenia.

I think the impression of Lunar=Dara Happen comes from the emphasis on Dragon Pass where the Dara Happens are the main Heartland group who are interested. In the Redlands the impression is Lunar=Rinliddi because that's where the Rinliddi are interested in.

As the Durulz worship neither the Lunar nor Virmak pantheons they're obviously barbarians who don't know what's right. Let the missionaries convert those who can be saved and supress the rest.
