Re: one day a Troll saved me

A couple more thoughts for the mill....

  1. The troll could have been on a ritual hunt, needing to find its sacred prey for whatever reason. Until it does so, it leaves everything else alone. Her being where she was _totally_ was messing up the hunting ground! So he cleared her out of there and went back to his task.
  2. Sure trolls are always hungry, but they are sentient too. The troll that found her was less hungry than usual, and frankly cranky that humans kept dumping their refuse there. Oh, sure, normally he'd appreciate the meal, but it just bothers him that humans won't do their own dirty work. So he decided not to play along with it. Variant on this is that the troll(s) who first found her brought her home, and the lead female made that decision.
  3. Oh, one more if you feel like getting yourself really tied in knots...they didn't eat the baby, they did divinations and found some reason to keep it instead. Then they did divinations about her, and found that she was somehow tied up with the baby, so they thought it best not to eat her, and sent her on her way, somewhere that they can find her again. Of course, when things start going wrong with the baby, who are they going to come looking for to help solve the problem?
