Actually I think Vingan Avengers *act* more like disciples than devotees or initiates. The one in my game does thats for sure! This is why, and pardon me for refering to a private conversation, I thought it would be a fascinating twist for Insterid (Kallyr Starbrows Thane) to spend years honing her skills for her revenge only for her not to be able to find her transgressors to revenge herself upon!!!

In fact, that is one of the reasons that I argued on HQ-Rules for the Vinga Avenger secret to be allowable without the normal requirements for secrets. Maybe make it not a secret at all - just giving a mighty edge to any wronged woman. Imagine an Ernaldan steadwife has her husband killed. Takes the red vows, spends a Hero Point and gets sword and shield at 13. With her sword of vengeance, rating at 13 as well, she actually has 6M against the guy/guys who did the murdering. With decent armour and weapons and the odd augment (like love husband) you have a seriously pissed off woman looking for revenge running at around 15-18M!! How cool is that! I love the idea that normally non agressive people can get so wound up you had better watch out. Very, very cool. Think Kenny Rogers and Coward of the County!!!! ;-)

Getting back to the Vingan IMG I can't wait for the day she has succeeded in her goals and maybe suddenly finds the only thing she is good at is revenge. A great/tragic story in the finest traditions of heroquest. Just like Innigo (the spanish guy) in the movie Princess Bride - a true Heroquest/comedy type film. 'I have been in the revenge business so long, I don't know what I'm going to do...'
