Zitrs are derived from the name Zitro Argon. Literally they are Teshnans that have fully understood the Teachings of Chal (what type of life-flame they have, that their life-flame is the same as their god and that all life-flames are manifestations of one flame).

Only the zitrs that have followed the path of Zitro Argon are standoffish mystical hermits. Other zitrs behave as members of the life-flame they have (Somash zitrs behave as powerful sun priests while Solf Zitrs are corrupt drug lords).

The wheel of governance consists of the leading Teshnan from each path. Historically such people have always been Zitrs but it is not necessary to be a zitr to sit on the wheel.
