IIRC correctly you cannot bring an item back with you. So you take a suitable weapon with you and when you return it has a new set of powers as a result of the HeroQuest. So i have a sword that I took on the Raven HeroQuest and so do you, but they are not the same sword, they just gained the same power on that quest.
