Edward is spot on and 100% accurate. That is exactly what the Policy does.

Look gang - the combination of the web, a longstanding policy of broadly authorizing fans to create derivative works, and the intellectual property issues inherent in role playing games and widely used fictional universes simply invites legal confusion. The Fan Material Policy seeks to clarify things so that we never get into litigation chaos.

Issaries does not have deep pockets and cannot afford to have drawnout  litigation over Glorantha. The Fan Material Policy (and the formal licenses to use Proprietary Material) protects Issaries from such a risk and codifies existing practice so that we all know what we are supposed to be doing - fans and Issaries alike.

Now, let's get back to talking about Orlanthi subcults, Wenelian tribes, and the like!
