The pulp of cacao is white and, mixed with milk and sugar, is my favourite juice ever. I even have some in the freezer, gathered from a Portuguese or Brazilian deli in London. So, lots of happy elf babies in my book.
Unfortunately, witch's broom and cocoa frosty pod (fungal diseases with good names, as most have) are laying waste to cocoa production, hence the search for alternatives such as Cupuacu, from which an almost chocolate can be made. My sister in law did her PhD on that.
