Orane's Circle
"There is always another way"
Common Names: The Women's Circle, The Elder Grandmothers
Form: A band of elders, holy women and other influential women.
Cultural Context: The Orlmarthing Ernaldan Loom House
Ideology: "There is always another way"; "I am the Loom Woman, who
binds the universe."
Look and Feel: Wise women and elders.
Purpose: To bind the members of the clan together and obtain the
blessings of Ernalda.
Headquarters: Orane's Loom House in the Nymie Vale.
Reactions:
Leader: Morganeth White-Eye
Renowned Members: Insterid Cold-as-Winter, Enika Mistress-of-Tales,
Yeresta Kingswidow, Yanoioth Ernaldoring, Kaylin the Priestess,
Entarosa Three-Sticks, Harla the Black, Esrolki Law-Wise.
Membership: About 50 women - primarily elders and god-talkers - form
the core of this group. All of the clan's Ernaldan women can
participate - about 270 women in total.
Other Contacts: The Orlmarthing Clan, the Clearwine Earth Temple,
Orlmarthing Peaceweavers.
Organization: A chief priestess leads Orane's Ring, though most
decisions are made by consensus.
Membership Requirements: Members are drawn from the Orlmarthing clan.
All women initated or devoted to Ernalda are members.
Leaders must have given birth to a live child at least once in their
life.

Common Names: Orlmarthing Bandits, Woodpecker Cattle Thieves
Form: A band of skilled raiders and cattle thieves.
Cultural Context: Ormarthing cattle thieves and raiders.
Ideology: "Canny cattle men, ride with warriors, strike the herdguards,
take their charges."
Look and Feel: Stealthy band of cattle raiders who take cattle from
other clans - mainly the Greydogs.
Purpose: To raid cattle from other clans.
Headquarters: Starfire Ridge
Reactions: The Ridgeleapers are disliked and often hated by the
Greydogs, with whom they are known to start feuds.
Leader: [Currently none]
Renowned Members: Herger the Alynx, Drogar Twice-Outlawed, Havarnos
the Quick.
Membership: The core of the Ridgeleapers come from the Ridge Steads
(Urothfalda, Harranholar, and Eyrrfel) - perhaps a dozen or so
warriors during peaceful times. During times of hardship or feud, the
Ridgeleapers can grow to encompass most of the fyrdsmen of the Ridge.
Other Contacts: Woodpeckers, Alynx Brotherhood, Orlmarthing
Dogkillers
Organization: Raiding parties are typically a dozen men, never more
than a score organized around a leader.Most parties consist of family
and friends of the leader.
Membership Requirements: Members are drawn from the Orlmarthing clan.
An existing member must sponsor someone who wishes to join.
Mundane Abilities Taught: Move Quietly, Running, Know Domestic
Animals
Typical Personality Traits: Bold, Patient
Magic: Members worship one of Orlanth's warband cults, usually
Finovan.
