Seems about right. But the real reason for his victory is that Tatius has most troops bottled up in the Temple of the Reaching Moon while the few troops he has to spare have been slaughtered by Harrek in Esrolia.

Gygax? Or Jagig Twobarb? (is there a difference?) Or do you mean Argrath? The only Argrath active at this period in time is Argrath White Bull.

Broyan is ultra-traditionalist. When he returns, it's likely that only the region around Whitewall will have his support. Broyan would of course like to extend his rule to the rest of Heortland but he's killed before doing so. So the remainder of Heortland is in anarchy until (an) Argrath becomes their protector circa 1629.

He is killed by a "demon which had many sharp mouths" that the Kitori unleash (KoS p152). Broyan is defenceless because he betrayed the City of Wonders to Harrek which suggests the demon is a part of the pharaoh or an oath-guardian.
