Freedom of Mind and Spirit was Larnsti Brotherhood

In the information about the Larnsti it says that they maintained the freedom of the Kingdom by remaining free in Mind and Spirit. Now, I think that might have something to do with why Broyan is all about the year-wives, but I also want to get people's interpretations of that. Is it some kind of geas ala Humakt or Yelmalio? Or something else. It sounds suspiciously like illumination to me.

Also, is Larnste alive? Or has he died or faded away with all of the Celestial Court besides Uleria?
