Heortling warfare is covered in detail in Thunder Rebels. Like everything else in Orlanthi culture it is based around the clan so the base unit is the clan warband. This could be anything between a squad and a company in strength depending on the size of the clan, who leads them, the cause they're fighting for and the way the wind blows. A number of clan warbands gather together to fight behind one leader who may be a tribal king.

If the clan is fighting on or near their tula their fyrd may be called out as well which increases the numbers but with less skilled warriors.

Cults and subcults will rarely separate out - family and clan are the primary ties.
