Here are some terms that I use to describe the Sartarite form of warfare in Sartar Rising!

Among the Sartarites they are called Ernalda war, Yinkin war and Orlanth war; alternately bread fight, burn fight, kill fight; and so on.

IN THIS CAMPAIGN the narrator characters will be defined using these terms.

Resistance.
Resistance members stay home and offer deep support. They perform passive struggle, such as work slow down, throwing sand in the grain tax, supplying food for guerillas, but not doing anything risky. They organize the locals, note information that may be useful to others, but do not dare to endanger their families, livlihoods or lives with rckless actions.

Guerilla.
Guerilla action includes normal resistance, but also active trouble making by destroying infrastructure, opportunistic violence against easy targets, hiding refugees, and generally taking risks to assist commandos.

Commando.
Commando action is military-like activity to destroy key objectives, harass etc. It is aggressive and dangerous. If the enemy did this they would be called terrorists. It is, regretably, a way of life in occupied Sartar.
