Using myself as a single point of evidence isn't statistically sound (few people are as big as I am, which may be it's own factor). Nor is your one data point refutation. I'm not saying it's a certainty - just a possibility that would explain the phenomenon in question. In point of fact, aclimatization, which actually has some significant physiological effects, is more likely to blame (blood thickness and such).

But, no matter the real world situation, for HQ I think it's just more fun to give people the ability. Genetic or no. And use that to explain why they like their home.
