It cancel to the extent that in full war and on battlefield you are rarely caught unprepared. Usually you are fully prepared and with heavy rituals. Humakti are warriors and/or champions and leave ambush to the people who are not warriors or to the specialist. How well would do a Ambush 7W3 when you are on the field with thousands enemy warriors in front of you ? That's the reason why Humakt is God of War and not of Ambush ...

  It's perhaps worth noticing the emphasis put on Ambush   skills in OiD and other publications. Catching your   enemy with their pants down, as you say.

  And having thought about that, we then consider the   Humakti objection to ambushes. And wonder to what   extent all that combat magic and gifts on swords   cancels out the advantage of ambush.
