My Dear Eparikondos,

Your letter from the scholar Chrestus Jerome neglects several important sources of apple lore. He should recall the grove of red apple trees, a place where the spirits of birds once passed through to their otherworld after death, guided by the meadowlark,. He surely should have recounted the known sites where Storm Apples grow. Clearly, the scholarship of those beardless wonders who worship the brown man need to organise their libraries. It seems hard to believe that an Empire as great and powerful as the Third Council should have neglected to nuture orchards within their regions, despite or perhaps even encouraged, by the Years without Fruit that plagued Peloria as a result of Middle Sea thaumaturgy. I am sure there are Apple flavoured elves in the Stinking Forest.

As to your questions about how to translate those phrases from Auld Wyrmish I'd suggest "the apple of my eye", "cider with Rosie", "as draconic as apple pie", and "prizewinning cabbage".

We must remember also, the lump in our throats known in Theyalan as Kurzana's Apple.

Rescue all wisdom,
Tonalang Diamondwhite
