What do you mean by "dawn"? Keep in mind that the sun never actually went out in the Darkness. All through the Great Darkness, Elmal the Living Sun shone from the top of Kero Fin. Oh, sure, he was much less bright while Orlanth was on the quest, but the Sun was still there. Anyone who tells you different is a lying heathen.

Which is to say, when it comes to time and godtime, *nothing* is simple.

IIRC, there were some cultures who were so completely protected by their gods (or whatever) that they never even *noticed* the Great Darkness. OTOH, at least one culture (the Mostali) is of the firm opinion that the Gods' War is still going on, thank you very much. I think the general timeline we all know and love is more or less a compromise between the Solar and Storm understandings--but don't expect consistent opinions all across the lozenge!
