Old German literature suffered a Memory Removal under Charlemagne's successor and son Louis the Pious. Where the father had his scholars collect the old Germanic sagas and texts before cutting down on oral tradition (mainly by executing the priests of the old religion), the son took all those books and burnt them. Talk about effort wasted...
It is really ironic - the first Gothic piece of literature was Wulfila's translation of the bible. For a German translation of the bible, Luther had to question the power of the medieval catholic church.
This doesn't translate into Malkioni scripture, which apparently can be read by speakers of any Western dialect. If anywhere, the Lhankor Mhy scripts have these levels of secrecy. Buseri writings might come a close second, but seem to have been spread all over the world (their star lore has).
