I certainly think you can have anyone hold a ritual in support of you anywhere. Of course, auspicious places and other ritual support applies. I suspect it is sometimes a trade off between the best place for your magic versus the most appropriate place for the myth. As for physical proximity to enter someone's heroquest... I don't think it is a requirement. Because the Gloranthan landscape is so tied to myth, sometimes you have to be connected to do it, but the Hero Plane being what it is, I figure you can get to the other person's heroquest if the myth you are travelling brings you close. (In Jar Eel and the Pharaoh's case, I don't think she was using a Lunar myth to intersect his HQ, so I suspect she did need to get in closer.)
