Well sure - look at the debacle of New Coca Cola or whatever the hell it was. Never trust an advertising executive, thats my philosophy. But I don't think you can say that buying customers have that much more clout unless you have consciously decided that your aim is not to expand sales but to maintain a happy fanbase. If you want to EXPAND sales, by definition you are talking about current non-buyers. And this is not a business like making toothpaste or cat food, something people need to buy over and over - most people will buy one copy of each product and thats it. So I would think that the aim here is, necessarily, expansion of sales. Taking input primarily from those who have already purchased books - and not players, by this definition - seems self-defeating.
