And I'd say that it directly contradicts your previous statement Heroquesting in the void to me is inconceivable - your having fun is probably quite right... ;-)

The void is not a repository full of weird creatures trying to escape into the material world. The creatures are a side effect of the void meeting the material world. The void does not even create the abomination, as it can only destruct. And as it destructs some of the fabric of the 'real world', the 'real world' resists.
Chaos creatures are 'scar tissue', born entirely from the material world.
I fear this is indeed Glorantha-(discussion/digest) material.
