Hi, Graeme,

Years ago, back in RQ days, I wrote a scenario for our lot in which a Chalana Arroy worshipper starred. It included a dangerous trek, a HQ (I winged it), and determined opponents.

A former Chalana Arroy priestess (who had turned to the Dark Side after her family were killed in front of her) was spreading a new plague. Another priestess was needed to find Genert's Garden, out in the Wastes of Prax. I posited that before its devastation in the Great Darkness, Genert's Garden would have had the cures for all illnesses. Once the original site of the Garden was found, the priestess had to HQ to the Gods Plane/Green Age to find and bring back the appropriate herb.

In the original, the priestess was an NPC who used the Lightbringer's Summons to request aid from the PCs. However, it could easily be turned around for your new player. If you have other players who could help protect and guide the priestess on her mission, I have a suggestion. I made a great point of stressing that the return of the healing herb was worth more than anyone's individual life. All the players were interviewed privately by the priestess, and the PCs had to agree that they would be willing to abandon their friends and fellow soldiers for the greater good. It was quite an effective technique to stress the seriousness of the quest.

Needless to say, there was opposition from the new Mallia priestess and her minions.

Let me know if this helps!
