Slack day at work...

Further thoughts on Low Entertainers. Given a model as to why they are trusted by the Ernaldan "High Command" we can develop this further. They are possibly the best spies in Sartar...

The High Entertainers are too obviously propagandists. The Lunars (the Dara Happans in particular) see a male dominated Heortling society. The Tarshites/Fazzurites know that the Ernaldans have a lot more influence but suffer the same blindness that the Orlanthi males as regards the importance of the Low Entertainers, possibly more so as their culture seems to recognise temporal authority only in male kings (Hon-Eel was only regent for her son if I remember correctly).

So Low Entertainer women have a trusted role and are almost invisible to the occupiers. They are welcome in all places where the soldiers go for entertainment. Plus there is the reputed prostitution angle.

I can almost hear the Chiefs and Kings (including Kallyr who does not know the "secret") complaining that they do not understand how/where their Chief Priestess got that piece of information from. Or how they could not get a message through until after they told the Chief Priestess. And this just adds to the unity of Ernaldan thought across all Ernaldan society from Esrolia to Tarsh.

regards,
Charles
