Before Microsoft persuaded everyone to use Outlook there were email programmes which did threading. I expect they are still about somewhere. That seems far more convenient than going to a dozen different web sites to see if someone has posted something interesting. Given that at least half of my email lists go quiet for days or weeks at a time abortive visits would take up a significant amount of time.

The other bugbear I have with BB systems is they each have their own editor which is usually a poor substitute for such things as Wordpad. I'd rather use the same editor for everything. Indeed there have been occassions where I've used cut and paste to transfer quotes from a BB to Wordpad, written my post and then copied the whole lot into the BB editor because it was easier than trying to do it on the website.
