I looked at the Glorantha book prior to its posting, with an eye to print quality (particularly of the art). On the work laser printer (at least 600 dpi), it was essentially the same as the printed book -- though felt easier to read since it ended up with wide margins. I didn't print the entire thing, but you should be able to double-side it such that it ends up the same thickness as the paperback (the work printer duplexes).
BTW, when I say "essentially the same" I mean the print. It appears as though the text is unaltered; it's exactly the same.
