It is hardly the main Vingkot story! Geez, Vingkot appears in so many places. And, as Greg discussed on the WoG some weeks ago, Orlanth was largely (self)exiled. He was not outlawed.

And Ernalda has had husband-protectors before Orlanth and when Orlanth was wandering, self-exiled, or whatever. In no way does that affect the mythic link between Ernalda and Orlanth - which is even acknowledged in Esrolia.
