Ewwww. Torkani.

But when the Storm Tribe was being founded, Orlanthi and his boys were invaders, usurping and taking control of the world from the previously existing order.

They adopted. And at that time the Trolls and the Darkness deities (and whatever else they are) were happily existing down in Wonderhome. It was only after some 'time' had passed in the Storm Age that the Trolls and their Gods made their way to the surface.

Long after Orlanth and his folk were in ascendancy. Guess who the invaders were? Guess who was getting their lands taken away? So, it makes some mythic sense that the Trolls and Darkness are a consistent enemy throughout the myths. Besides, unlike the Fire Tribe, trolls eat people....

They are much more alien, I suppose.
