Hello, Tobbe,

That's a high probability, and I was beginning to wonder about the spelling, myself. Gyda, as a Scandinavian girl's name, is alleged to mean 'gods', feminine plural. Mind you, this is just on three baby name sites, and I have my doubts about the depth of their scholarship!

Anyone else know anything more reliable? Any help possible from our Scandinavian contributors?
