Ok. Here's where I'm at today:

(Type) Caste Solar is now a straight ability. It represents the essence enhanced might that comes with exaltation and includes anima banner, longevity and prodigous skill in those abilities relevant to one's caste. (Type) Caste Solar costs 3HP to improve.

Solar (Ability) Excellencies are umbrella keywords. They represent supernatural expertise and charm bundles. Characters may start with up to five excellencies, with no more than two being non-caste.

[Note: Although picking an excellency native to one's caste might seem like replication its inclusion is deliberate. Excellencies grant specificity advantage as well as access to charms. A dawn caste solar focussing on becoming a supernaturally prodigious swordsman doesn't need to raise his Dawn Caste Solar ability to do so.]

Characters start with up to three individual charms which are drawn from caste excellencies or selected non-caste excellencies. Charms cost 1HP to buy and raise. Their rating is equal to their parent excellency plus whatever improvements are purchased.

Returning to our newly created Dawn Caste character, his exaltation now looks like this:

Dawn Caste Solar – 18

Solar Archery Excellency – 15

Solar Melee Excellency – 1W5 (Heavenly Guardian Defence +1, Hungry Tiger +1)

Solar Stealth Excellency - 13

Thoughts?
