And what's wrong with Discworld grade silly? Part of Glorantha's attraction has always been the humour running through it. I've never been that fond of the really obvious jokes myself, but the more subtle jokes, and some of the off the wall weirdness is part of the attraction. If nothing else, Glorantha can on occassions do a far better job of re-creating the feel of the Discworld books than the Discworld RPG ever did.
As for tourists, there are real world antecedents. The tourists going to watch battles of the American Civil War spring to mind.
