Just to through a little more real world into the discussion - look at Princess Di as an example of a Gloranthan Hero (not sure of *what*, exactly...). She was idolized during her life, and still gets flowers on her grave.

Treat "Family" as "Bloodline" in the keyword, not just "Nuclear Family". Unlike modern America (at least), the Heortlings tend to stay in the same area all their lives, and keep in touch with their cousins, aunts & uncles, nephews & nieces, etc. So "Family" applies to the whole shebang, not just the family here in this one stead, or one hut.
