I suggested that maybe all the religious reasons (Orlanth is the rebel, Orlanth killed Yelm, Orlanth doesn't recognize Us) were a facade. The real reasons were political and economical: Lunars want economic ports and markets in the South and use their religion and armies to support their Etyrian greed.
Beside in nowadays (am I correct, Martin?) LE, the Orlanthi are not the Big Enemies. They are just the Southern obstacles to an imperisalistic outstretched attitude. The worst enemies come from within the empire (Solar traditionalists) or from Evergreen Pent.
