I completely agree. But -- like I said -- as *I* don't get anything out of this, *I* don't use it myself.

My post at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeroWars/message/4142 wasn't "laying down the law" about good vs. bad analogies. It was meant to be informative, not prescriptive. I am delighted to agree that people who think Buddhism rocks or are hot for Hinduism can doubtless go great guns using these analogies in the Lunar Empire. As an English, Socialist, Ancient & Dark Age historian, however, I don't get much mileage out of them *myself*. I consciously use all of the analogies I mentioned in that post, and none of the ones which I didn't mention. As I've said before now in this thread, "that's just me".
