Yup. Sorcery requires dedication, specialisation, lengthy study and a retreat from normal society. The pointy hat is optional.

On the other hand, Sorcery is far better set up to do large-scale and large-area magic (blessings, in other words), so more people can benefit from the few magically-capable individuals than would be so were the same ratio of magic-capable to mundane true of Theists. Animists don't exactly do magic either, except Shamans, who do all the work and then hand out fire-and-forget 'delayed action' magic, called fetishes...
